# Fees

> What a transfer costs, how your own markup or subsidy works, and when it is settled.

Pricing is additive and visible on the quote. Nothing is taken outside the numbers
below.

## What a fiat transfer costs

Four layers, added together:

| Layer | What it is |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Source rail fee | Charged by the rail the money comes in on. A variable part in basis points, sometimes a fixed part. |
| Destination rail fee | Charged by the rail the money goes out on. On-chain destinations are **zero** - no network or withdrawal fee. |
| FX markup | The conversion spread, in basis points, already included in the rate you are quoted. |
| Your fee | Your own markup, in basis points or as a fixed amount. Set by you, see below. |

The variable side is the sum of those four in basis points, so `100` means one
percent. A destination fee shown against an on-chain payout is the source fee restated
in the destination currency, not a second charge.

## Your markup, or your subsidy

Your fee is set per account and can go either way:

* **Markup** - a positive value, added on top. This is how you earn on the flow.
* **Subsidy** - a negative value, which absorbs part or all of the cost so your user
pays less than the rails charge.

Two rules bound it:

* On a **virtual account**, the combined variable fee cannot go below zero, and a
fixed subsidy cannot be larger than the source rail's fixed fee.
* On a **transfer quote**, a subsidy can cover the whole cost but not more. Anything
beyond full coverage is rejected rather than quietly clipped.

Your fee is set on the account, not passed per request, so a browser cannot alter what
you charge.

## Stablecoin deposits

The crypto path is priced per route on the quote, and the quote is the whole price -
there is no separate settlement or bridging charge. Routes are priced live, so the
same corridor can cost differently minute to minute. Quote in the direction that
matters to you: fix what the payer spends, or fix what has to land.

## Settlement

Fees collected are netted at the end of each month and appear on your invoice. Nothing
is deducted from a live transfer beyond what the quote showed.

<Note>
Rate cards for a specific corridor, volume tier, or currency are set per partner
during onboarding. Ask us for the numbers that apply to your case.
